Simon Cowell recently revealed to Blender magazine that he thinks David Cook should walk away with this season's American Idol h1.

Idol's King of Mean tells the mag, "I think he's done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks. He's taken more risks, he's done things with certain songs that have been more interesting. If I'm gonna base it on who has done the best performances over the live shows, David Cook deserves to win."

Simon also voiced his displeasure with booted contestant Jason Castro.

Cowell said, "He just gave up - I get frustrated over that."

He also hints that he thinks youngin' David Archuletta has no personality.

Can't hate on Simon. He calls it as he sees it!

Amy Winehouse was arrested last week, in relation to that crack smoking video of earlier this year.

Well, police have decided NOT to pursue any further action against the troubled singer!

A spokeswhore for Wino released the following statement Wednesday morning:

"Police have confirmed that no action will be taken against Amy Winehouse in relation to an investigation into a video handed to them in January.

She was questioned by policelast week and released on unconditional bail. They have now concluded their enquiries and no charges will be brought. Amy’s bail date to return toLimehouse police station has been cancelled, bringing this matter to an end.

Amy is pleased to be able tomove on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing herfans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer."

Bummer. They should have taken her to trial and forced her into rehab!

As of Tuesday evening, eight jurors have been chosen for the R. Kelly child pornography trial.

Only eight more to go!

Three jurors were chosen on Monday.

Here's more info about the new five appointed on Tuesday:

1. A white man in his 40s who has previously served on two juries in civil cases.

2. A white man in his mid-30s, who works as a compliance officer at a downtown investment business.

3. A black woman in her late 20s who works as a teacher's assistant.

4. A heavy set black man in his late 30s or early 40s who is attending culinary school.

5. A white woman studying criminal justice in college who says she wants to be a police officer.

Of the jurors selected so far, five are men and three are women. Four are African Americans and four are white.

On a sidenote, WE were a point of discussion during jury questioning on Tuesday!

The prosecution grilled a potential juror, a stay at home mom in her 20's, about her habit of reading PerezHilton.com. The potential juror fessed up to her wonderful habit, but she pointed out that she didn't read our latest R. Kelly posts. Tisk. Ttisk.

We assume she distanced herself from our last post to appear more 'fair'.

The 'Perez' juror was described as generally agreeable. She hasn't been dismissed.

Let's see if she makes it on the panel!

Driver buckles beer in car — but not child

DARWIN, Australia — An Australian driver who secured a carton of beer in his car with a seat belt but left a 5-year-old child unrestrained was fined 750 Australian dollars ($710; €460), police said Tuesday.

Constable Wayne Burnett said he was "shocked and appalled" when he pulled over the unregistered car on Friday in the central Australian town of Alice Springs.

The 30-can carton was strapped in between the two adults sitting in the back seat of the car. The child was also in back, on the vehicle's floor.

"The child was sitting in the lump in the center, unrestrained," Burnett told reporters Tuesday.

"I haven't ever seen something like this before," he said. "This is the first time that the beer has taken priority over a child."

The driver was fined for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and for failing to ensure a child was wearing a seat belt.

Alice Springs Police Superintendent Sean Parnell expressed shock at the incident in a statement released Tuesday.

"This serves as a timely reminder to all drivers to ensure they wear seat belts and ensure as is their responsibility that all passengers in their vehicle are secured in the appropriate manner," he said.
